Dear friends and well-wishers.

Greetings from the Dagoretti4kids family. We are happy to share with you all this month different experiences that continue to fulfill our vision.

In the month of August schools go on break, and it’s been very busy with all the boys at home.

During the break we organize different activities which include camping, community service as well as refreshing our relationships with the boys and staff members.

Our primary objective continues to be education and we do our best to see that all the kids we serve focus on getting the best out of school.

Allan Niongira happens to be the show stopper this month .He is one of the oldest boys with us. He joined high school this year with the best grades. With a very touching background, he has taken education very seriously and, God willing, he has a very promising future

Allan was referred to us by the local chief after a reported child abuse case in his office.

Allan’s origin is Rwanda, and he ended up in Kenya after the 1990’s Rwandan genocide. He was approximately 4 years at that time.

He was later attached with a Rwandan family who were also immigrants. They never took him to school. He befriended kids from the neighborhood who gave him books to read and learned how to write. It is this way that he managed to write a letter to the chief about his situation.

Allan is now one of the brightest kids we have and aspires to be a writer. He loves literature and he is hoping to write a book in future.
